Andrew Burchett

LEAD PASTOR

I grew up here at Neighborhood Church and graduated from Chico State in 1992.  My wife Linda and I were married here in the dome after college graduation and then we lived in southern California for almost seven years.  During that season I worked at two different churches and earned my Masters of Divinity degree in December of 1997.  We moved back to Chico in the spring of 1998 when I became the youth pastor. After ten years as youth pastor, and becoming 'Dad' to three children, I made the transition to an associate pastor and then Lead Pastor in 2010.

Amy Wadlow

EXECUTIVE PASTOR

I was raised in a Christian family but had an experience in college that solidified my faith as my own and led to me truly surrendering control to the Lord. Since then, I've been on a journey experiencing the abundant life Jesus came to give. After a season of traveling the world, I landed here in my hometown and in early 2002, married my husband Michael (with whom I have one son, Kaenan) and started my first of many roles on the NC staff.

Austin Gerbert

I grew up in the Bay Area and came up to Chico for college. I first met God while I was in college and He drastically changed the direction of my life. I got my degree in Psychology in 2015 and God has continued to push me into even more opportunities to help people. I love that I have the opportunity to help the next generation learn who they are to God and who God is to them!

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian family. Born in the Bay Area, my family re-located to Paradise when I was in elementary school.  After high school I moved all over California working and continuing my education, until returning to Chico as a young adult. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing daughters that keep me busy. We were introduced to the Neighborhood Church Family years ago when my daughters were young, and we have never left.  It has been a wonderful place and a blessing to us in many ways.

Chris Balint

youth PASTOR

I am a West Coast person at heart. In 2015 my family and I landed in Chico. A life lived is a life full of love and packed full of adventure. Jesus has gifted me with a beautiful wife (who I met in South Dakota) and teenagers to travel, explore, and play with in Chico and beyond. You want someone to pickleball, ride the trails in Upper Park, or watch a football game with and talk about Jesus let me know.

Cindi Alaan

Office Manager

I grew up in a small beach community halfway between Santa Cruz and Monterey. I spent 16 years in Southern California and moved to Chico in 2001. I have a small family but a very large extended family. I love to travel and have been blessed to visit 15 different countries (four of which were mission trips) and have traveled through 42 states.  I enjoy grabbing coffee with friends and working through my families ancestry.  I’m currently studying the Bible in chronological order as an inductive study.  I am in love with Jesus more everyday as He leads and guides me.

Dave Duncan

lay pastor of life groups

Debbie Romero

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

After a fresh encounter with the Lord in 1995 my life radically changed.  I was in executive management in LA and we located to Paradise where my family and I began a new path.  I spent the next eight years working for a non-profit & was involved in all aspects of ministry through the church.  In 2003 I was hit with a Neurological Disease which again changed our path.  After four very challenging years & inability to work, I came to Neighborhood and was giving the opportunity to develop a strong HR department.

I grew up in Chico going to Neighborhood Church. When I got married we moved to the Bay Area and then back to Chico, where we ended up back at Neighborhood, with our three kids. After moving to Colorado and Texas for 3.5 years, we are back in Chico. I am blessed to be working at Neighborhood, a place that is home to me and my family, with people who have become my family. The Lord truly is so faithful and knows exactly what we need, way before we do!

Linda Burchett

Worship & Arts Director

I came to visit a friend who was going to Chico State in the Fall of 1988 and fell in love with Chico with its amazing array of Autumn colors to the beauty of the almond blossoms in the Spring.  It is here that I met my husband Andrew at the intersection of Chestnut Ave. and 4th Street (literally on the street) while attending Chico State.  We were married in July of 1992 and had three children beginning in 1998. I worked full time as Andrew went to Seminary. Upon completing Seminary, Andrew was called back to his hometown to serve in this church he grew up in. During most of his tenure my ministry was working from home as a Mom, but also teaching Vocal and Piano lessons. I joined the NC staff in 2021 and am honored to be the Worship & Arts Director.

NETWORK COORDINATOR

My parents settled in Chico shortly after the end of World War II.  My father was a fighter pilot in the Pacific theater. They built a home where they raised me along with my four sisters and three brothers.  My siblings are now scattered around the world.  Although I grew up in a religious family, I did not have an encounter with Christ until I was twenty.  I married the cutest woman I could find 39 years ago!  We have two amazing grown children, two grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter.  I enjoy living life by grace!

I was raised in Southern California until I was 14 when my family moved north to the small town of Sheridan. I lived there until moving to Chico in 1986 where I met my husband, and we later started our family. We came to Neighborhood Church in 1990 and over the years I have been involved with Women's Ministries and various Small Group Bible Studies.  I truly consider this our "home". I have an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sierra Jr. College, and my BA Degree in Child Development from CSUC.
